Some of my favorite blogs are part of the Book Blogger Hop which is hosted by Crazy for Books. This weekly Book Party is an amazing opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! This week, I have decided to join in on the fun!
This week's question:
"What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?"
I love this question. There are so many movies out that are based on books so it is hard to choose but I think I have found my answers.
One of my absolute favorite book to movie titles has got to be Stand By Me (Titled The Body by Stephen King). "Now he said "sick em boy", but what I heard was..."Chopper, sick balls"" Classic!
One of the movies that I disliked, had to be The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton). I was forced to read this book in high school and I absolutely LOVED it! The movie was decent too...the first time. Watching it again years later...totally not how I remembered. Still highly recommend the book, especially for teens, the movie - not so much.
What are yours?
I guess I will offhandedly pick an oldie but goodie as best book to movie: "To Kill A Mockingbird" (Gregory Peck shines in it). My worst book to movie might be "The Watchers" by Dean Koontz; was this even the same plot??
ReplyDeleteAnxious to hear about more people's choices, thanks Lilith. Nice blog! Rae

ReplyDelete@ Best O' Books: Ugh, I totally agree with "The Watchers". I am a huge Koontz fan and I was not happy with the movie at all.
ReplyDelete@ Lover: Thanks for the follow! I'm all about the romance :) Have a good weekend too!
P.S. I LOVE your blog. It is sooo pretty! I could just browse it all day :)
I've been meaning to read the Body for quite a while now, I guess I'll have to read the book first and then watch the movie!
ReplyDelete@Priya: I would love to hear your thoughts on it! Let me know if you ever get to it :)
ReplyDelete@Howard: (grabs tomato and prepares to throw) wait a second...I haven't read the LOTR books. Looks like you are safe from me today. Although I liked your explaination :D
